I urge you to oppose the use of the National Guard as a federal law-enforcement tool when there is no clear evidence that these deployments improve public safety.
The reported $1.7 billion cost of deployments to Los Angeles, Memphis, and Washington, D.C., deserves serious congressional scrutiny, particularly given findings that the deployments did not significantly reduce homicides, violent crime, or gun violence.
Please demand transparency about the evidence used to justify these deployments, the costs to taxpayers, and their actual impact on crime. Congress should ensure that federal power and taxpayer money are used effectively, lawfully, and based on evidence—not political claims.
I urge you to support rigorous oversight and oppose further deployments unless there is compelling evidence that they are necessary, lawful, and effective.
