A Christmas Test of Christian Leadership

To: Rep. Dean, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Moran, Pres. Trump, Sen. Cornyn, Gov. Abbott, Sen. Hughes

December 24

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, I ask a sincere spiritual question. Would you be willing to spend twenty four hours speaking and posting only the love of God as taught by Jesus Christ? No anger. No falsehoods. No insults. Only words shaped by grace, humility, mercy, and truth. Only God’s unconditional love. No matter who you are, where you are from, what you call yourself, or what you believe, God loved you enough to send His Son into the world. That truth is the center of Christmas and the foundation of Christ’s ministry. Jesus taught: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34 Christ showed love to the POOR, the OUTSIDER, the SINNER, and the FORGOTTEN. He spoke TRUTH with COMPASSION and power with restraint. Words matter because they reveal what lives in the heart. Christmas calls leaders, especially those with great influence, to reflect Christ in how they speak and how they lead. May your words point people toward healing, unity, and hope, reflecting the teachings of JESUS who came for EVERYONE!
