Reject harmful, inequitable budget bill prioritizing corporate interests

To: Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Tenney, Pres. Trump, Sen. Schumer

From: A constituent in Perry, NY

July 3

The proposed budget bill would be detrimental to the well-being of average Americans and our nation's future. It recklessly accumulates trillions in new debt, exacerbating income inequality by providing massive giveaways to the wealthiest at the expense of lower-income households. Millions stand to lose essential healthcare coverage due to significant cuts to Medicaid and other programs. The bill undermines economic growth, costing over 1.5 million jobs and raising energy costs for consumers. It jeopardizes America's manufacturing competitiveness against China in vital industries like clean energy. Furthermore, the loosening of environmental protections will worsen climate impacts, increasing costs from natural disasters. This fiscally irresponsible legislation sacrifices the interests of working families for short-term political gains. Prioritizing corporate profits over people is unacceptable. I urge you to reject this harmful budget proposal and instead focus on policies that invest in our nation's future, create good-paying jobs, strengthen healthcare access, address inequality, and protect the environment. The well-being of all Americans must take precedence.
