Protect Our Polling Places From Federal Interference

To: Rep. DelBene, Rep. Duerr, Sen. Stanford, Sen. Cantwell, Sen. Murray, Pres. Trump, Rep. Kloba, Gov. Ferguson

From: A verified voter in Bothell, WA

March 11

I need you to publicly commit that no armed federal agents will be stationed at polling places in our state during the midterm elections. Federal statute already prohibits troops or federal officers from interfering with polls, and you must enforce that law. Recent actions suggest a coordinated effort to intimidate voters and undermine confidence in our elections. The Pentagon delayed a FOIA request about deploying federal forces to polls until just before Election Day. The FBI subpoenaed records from the debunked 2020 Maricopa County audit in Arizona. Federal raids have hit voting facilities in Fulton County, Georgia and Puerto Rico. This pattern builds an apparatus of doubt designed to contest results. I expect you to work with organizations like the ACLU and Brennan Center to monitor any federal presence at our polling sites. Document and challenge any attempts to position DHS agents or other federal officers near voters. Make clear that such interference will face immediate legal action. Our elections belong to the people, not to federal agents with guns. Defend that principle now, before Election Day.
