I am writing as a deeply concerned constituent to demand that Congress immediately and forcefully exercise its constitutional authority to check President Trump’s escalating abuse of power.
The President is openly disregarding the law, defying established legal and constitutional limits, and behaving in ways that put U.S. citizens, democratic institutions, and national stability at risk. This is not normal, and it cannot be treated as such. When the executive branch flaunts the law without consequence, Congress’s failure to act becomes complicity.
The Constitution is explicit: Congress is a co-equal branch, charged with oversight, accountability, and restraint of executive power. That responsibility is not optional, and it does not yield to political convenience, party loyalty, or fear of backlash. The longer Congress delays decisive action, the greater the damage—to public trust, to the rule of law, and to the safety of the American people.
I expect my elected representative to:
• Publicly condemn unlawful executive actions
• Use investigative and oversight powers without hesitation
• Support and advance measures that reassert constitutional limits
• Put the protection of democracy and public safety above partisan interests
History will remember whether Congress met this moment or failed it. I urge you to act now, decisively and visibly, to uphold your oath and protect the Constitution you swore to defend.
I expect accountability, not silence.
