You need to remove FBI Director Kash Patel from his position immediately. His behavior on April 10 demonstrates he is unfit to lead an agency of 38,000 people.
When Patel believed he was locked out of an FBI computer system, he panicked and frantically called aides and allies claiming he had been fired. This wasn't true. It was a technical error. But his freak-out caused chaos throughout the entire bureau and prompted emergency calls to the White House from FBI officials and members of Congress asking who was in charge. One FBI official called the whole episode "ultimately bullshit."
Multiple current and former officials report that Patel has exhibited bouts of excessive drinking. He is reportedly obsessed with losing his job, and current FBI officials are waiting for word of his removal. The FBI requires steady, competent leadership, not someone who creates agency-wide panic over a password issue.
The bureau cannot function effectively under a director who lacks the temperament and judgment this role demands. Remove him now and appoint someone capable of leading our nation's premier law enforcement agency.
