Venezuela invasion

To: Pres. Trump, Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Barrett

From: A constituent in Lansing, MI

January 4

Invasion of Venezuela. I do not agree with the invasion of Venezuela and I do not agree with how President Trump thinks he can invade a country without the support of Congress or the American people. I believe we achieve peace thru diplomacy not by attacking a country and taking the country over with our military. This is nothing more than greed and a power grab to take another countries oil. It is not our oil and never has been. This is exactly what Russia has been doing in Ukraine. We are not a country that believes in physically taking over a country for our benefit. We are a country that believes in helping them to be a democracy that helps that nation be a better place for their people to live. This should be done by diplomacy not by flexing our military power. Congress needs to reel in this President Trump from his use of military force to do whatever he wants without their approval. If President Trump doesn’t abide by the constitution, then he needs to be removed from office. Stop allowing him to break the constitution by doing nothing.
