Is Trump Confused, Corrupt, or Both? Trump signed an order directing federal agencies to permit lead ammunition, then admitted, “I don’t know what the hell that means.” He then asked Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to educate him about the policy he was signing! Trump then told the industry crowd, “You wanted it, and I’m here for you.” Bass Pro Shops billionaire Johnny Morris was there. Morris has given at least $400,000 towards supporting Trump. Is Trump experiencing cognitive decline, or has the presidency become a signature service for wealthy donors? What is the president’s job, to serve the country or line his own pocket? Who wrote this order, who demanded it, and what exactly did their money buy? Does this explain Trump’s parade of legally reckless executive orders? Does the same pay to play stench surround pardons benefiting donors and allies? Congress must subpoena the records, follow the money, and investigate Trump’s competence and possible corruption. A president who signs what donors want without understanding it is unfit, compromised, or both.
