The United States government has made the concerning decision to pause all military aid to Ukraine, which is currently defending itself against an unjustified and unlawful invasion by Russia. This move undermines Ukraine's ability to resist Russian aggression and protect its sovereign territory and democratic values. As an advocate for democracy and human rights, I urge a reconsideration of this policy and a resumption of military support to Ukraine. Allowing an authoritarian regime like Russia to violate another nation's sovereignty sets a dangerous precedent that threatens global peace and stability. Ukraine deserves the means to defend itself against this unwarranted attack on its people and its right to self-determination.
