The Israeli government's forced use of long-term birth control injections on Ethiopian Jewish women without their consent is a disturbing violation of human rights and bodily autonomy. No government should ever control the reproductive choices of its citizens, especially through deception and coercion. This unethical practice unfortunately has roots in a long history of oppressive population control measures targeting minority and marginalized communities. Israel must be held accountable for this egregious abuse of power. All people deserve to make informed decisions about their own family planning free from government interference or discrimination based on race or ethnicity. I urge an immediate end to any such coercive policies, a full investigation into these troubling revelations, and justice for the Ethiopian women whose reproductive freedoms were so severely infringed upon.
