Demand for New Budget to Eliminate Known Fraud and Ensure Fiscal Responsibility

To: Sen. Cornyn, Pres. Trump, Sen. Cruz, Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Sen. Hughes, Rep. Dean, Rep. Moran

From: A constituent in Kilgore, TX

March 7, 2025

President Trump stated that “hundreds of billions” in government spending have been identified as fraudulent. Additionally, Elon Musk informed senators that DOGE’s efforts are saving $4 million daily, totaling $1.46 billion annually. Based on just these facts, Congress cannot legally fund fraudulent expenditures. The False Claims Act (31 U.S.C. §§ 3729–3733) and the Anti-Deficiency Act (31 U.S.C. §§ 1341, 1517) prohibit approving funds for budgets tainted by fraud. Voting for a Continuing Resolution (CR) under these circumstances may be unconstitutional. A new budget must be drafted immediately to ensure lawful and responsible spending. I urge you to demand a full budget reassessment to uphold transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility for American taxpayers.
