Reject partisan interference, preserve postal service independence

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Espaillat

From: A verified voter in New York, NY

February 21

The United States Postal Service was established as an independent agency to serve all Americans equally, delivering mail to even the most remote areas of the country. Taking control away from its Constitutionally-mandated oversight by Congress and placing it under the Executive Branch poses a grave threat to this crucial service. This proposal appears to be a blatant attempt to enable partisan political interference and undermine the USPS's ability to function free from improper influence. The USPS must remain an autonomous entity committed to its public service mission, not subject to the whims of any administration. Preserving the postal service's independence is essential to maintaining reliable mail delivery for every citizen, regardless of location or political affiliation. I urge you to reject any efforts to remove the USPS from Congressional oversight and safeguard this vital institution.
