California's national parks generate billions in tourism revenue and support thousands of jobs. However, due to recent budget cuts and staffing reductions, Yosemite and other parks face severe overcrowding, unsanitary conditions, overflowing trash, and damage to natural resources. This crisis threatens visitor safety, environmental preservation, and economic stability. Immediate action is needed to reinstate qualified National Park Service employees who were wrongfully terminated, like my friend Melissa who was working her dream job in Yosemite. Their expertise is crucial to properly managing and protecting these national treasures for all Americans to enjoy while upholding California's thriving tourism economy. The parks must be provided adequate staffing and resources to meet the public's demands while safeguarding our natural heritage.
