Prioritize diplomacy, cease bombing and escalation in Yemen

To: Rep. Courtney, Sen. Blumenthal, Pres. Biden, Sen. Murphy

From: A constituent in East Hampton, CT

May 13

Urgent Appeal: Cease US Military Involvement in Yemen The United States must immediately cease its bombing of Yemen and any further escalation of violence in the region. These latest strikes were conducted without Congressional approval, violating the War Powers Act. Yemen has already suffered immensely from a decade of war, resulting in catastrophic loss of life, displacement of millions, and severe famine conditions. Military action will only breed more devastation and human suffering, benefiting no one except the weapons industry. Instead of reckless aggression, the U.S. should support an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the occupation and apartheid policies, and pursue diplomatic solutions to resolve conflicts peacefully. No more bombs, no more war - the priority must be protecting civilian lives and promoting lasting peace and stability in the region.
