I am your constituent and I want you to know that the Lancet Medical journal just released a report on the harmful health effects of plastics. The effects include impaired reproductive potential (eg, polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis), perinatal effects (eg, miscarriage, reduced birthweight, and malformations of the genital organs), diminished cognitive function (eg, intelligence quotient loss), insulin resistance, hypertension and obesity in children, and type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, obesity, and cancer in adults. 85% of all Americans (WWF) know that this is a problem and want something done. You can help. You can create legislation to ban single use plastics and supports recycling and reuse and you can ban the hazardous chemicals used in the plastic manufacturing process. This will greatly reduce exposure and improve the health of all of us. Thank you.
