Congress must impeach President Trump for his illegal, unauthorized attack on Venezuela. His abduction of a foreign leader is only the most egregious event in a steadily escalating series of abuses of Executive power. Congress must assert its Constitutional authority; the power to declare war lies with Congress, not the President. A failure of Congress to take every available action to hold the President accountable for this “high crime” will not only violate each member’s oath to uphold the Constitution, but will also render Congress powerless and irrelevant. Impeach President Trump immediately.
