In the big beautiful build, if you search for Medicare it is true that there are *no* cuts to Medicare *in the bill*. HOWEVER, the Congressional Budget Office has said that this bill will trigger a sequestration that will legally *require* cuts to Medicare and Social Security. This is because when Congress passes legislation that increases the deficit it triggers sequestration (clawback) of funds, which *legally* must come from *mandatory* spending, including Medicare and Social Security. (This is because mandatory spendings are not subject to the appropriations process, they are instead, well, mandatory, so sequestration is the only way to reduce that spending). You need to start shouting this everywhere. The republicans are lying about no cuts, and every news outlet needs to report on the lie. You need to make sure that happens. Just voting against it isn’t enough, the truth needs to be out there. Give interviews especially of fox, and own and other conservative places. Not just on liberal or unbiased places. Give speeches, organize protest. Be loud. Expose the lie.
