Save our national pastime

To: Sen. Gillibrand, Sen. Schumer, Rep. Gillen

From: A constituent in Oceanside, NY

October 29

I am concerned about the impending Major League Baseball lockout which is threatening to cancel the 2027 MLB season. Baseball is a national pastime, and crucial for the national economy and the mental health of baseball fans across the nation. It is an escape from the pressures of everyday life, and an opportunity for neighbors to come together for a common pursuit. It’s part of what makes america so great, which is why its devastating to see the owners and players show little regard to the common fan as they threaten missing games to feed their greed. We must have something special taken away from us so these billionaires and millionaires can argue over their slice of the pie. I propose a bill that will make it highly disincentived for the league to miss games, forcing a deadline that will bring players and owners to the bargaining table. This is something that all americans from the left and the right can get behind. If there is no baseball in 2027, we all lose. Help save our national pastime.
