The pattern of relentless civilian killings and destruction in Gaza is unconscionable and must be met with firm consequences. Israel continues to defy international law and human rights norms with its genocide enabled by a steady flow of deadly US weapons. The continued supply of missiles, bombs, and other munitions to Israel has directly contributed to the deaths of over 41,000 civilians, including children sheltered in UN schools. This is in addition to the tens of thousands more injured and immense devastation caused. Supplying the tools for such brutality against a captive population is an inexcusable abrogation of responsibility. An immediate full arms embargo on Israel is a moral, financial and legal imperative. Continuing to arm Israel will only cause further atrocities and undermines efforts toward a just peace. Concrete actions to cut off the armament enabling these massacres is the only path consistent with American values and international standing. Accountability cannot be merely rhetorical when the human lives lost is so catastrophically high. Withholding arms shipments is an essential step toward protecting human lives and upholding human rights.
