I’m calling for the immediate return of Kilmar Abrego-Garcia to the United States. What has happened to him is both horrifying and profoundly unjust — and it’s on us to make it right. Congress must step in.
The idea that the Trump administration lacks the power to bring Abrego-Garcia back is simply untrue. There’s clear precedent: both Democratic and Republican administrations — including Biden’s — have facilitated the return of individuals who were wrongfully deported, including veterans targeted during Trump’s first term. The legal authority exists. What’s missing is the political will — and the courage to take responsibility for the harm caused by Trump’s mass deportation machine.
The Supreme Court has already made it clear: Abrego-Garcia was wrongfully deported. He has every right to return and be reunited with his wife and children. No president is above the law — and no family should be torn apart for the sake of political theater. Bring Kilmar home now. And stop Trump before he does even more damage to our democracy.
