The question-“I Really Wonder Why?” A reflection on Disability Rights in Cherokee and Pickens Counties, Georgia. I have echoes of profound pain and frustration, born from witnessing the ill treatment of disabled people in Cherokee and Pickens communities. There is an abiding hurt when one sees injustice persist, especially when the elected officials take oaths and swear to uphold the federal constitution and state constitutional rights of every citizen, without exception. It’s painful and past impartiality! It’s a paradox that weighs heavily upon those who care deeply for equality and justice for all citizens of the State of Georgia, and the United States of America. The courts are meant to be a sanctuaries of fairness, places where the vulnerable can find protection, dignity, and justice for all! Why then are the disabled denied the right to be plaintiffs, because they are used and treated in a discriminatory manner! Such interventions are enshrined into the Constitution but denied because they are frowned upon by other people, there is no justice for all; just those who have money and limbs that work! The sadness in witnessing such a tragedy! Excluded by systematic failure and violence!
