The Israeli government's use of starvation as a weapon of war against civilians in Gaza, which has resulted in the deaths of at least 28 children from malnutrition and dehydration, is a war crime that must be condemned. Children in Gaza are suffering from severe malnutrition, with hospitals ill-equipped to treat them due to the Israeli blockade restricting humanitarian aid, food, and medical supplies. This devastating humanitarian crisis requires immediate international action to pressure Israel to lift the unlawful blockade and allow unrestricted access for humanitarian aid in accordance with its obligations under international law. Targeted sanctions and suspension of arms transfers should be imposed on Israeli officials responsible for perpetuating these war crimes until the blockade ends and humanitarian access is restored to prevent further loss of innocent lives, especially among vulnerable children.
