Trump announced his plan for the United States to go into Gaza, “own Gaza”, relocate all of the people of Gaza to Egypt and Jordan, and turn Gaza into “the Riviera of the Middle East”. What he is describing is ethnic cleansing and colonization. The U.S. has no business taking over part of another country, or removing its residents. The people of Gaza and Israel do not want this. This would be a return to expansionism that we Americans also do not want to see, likely with U.S. troops engaged in doing this ugly work abroad. Please be vocal and stand against this proposal, and fight against it. Please work instead for a peaceful solution in Israel that helps to rebuild Gaza for the Palestinians and which respects Palestinians’ right to continue to live in their homeland.
