Oppose the New OMB Rules on Federal Grants

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Torres

From: A constituent in Bronx, NY

June 15

Vote against the new OMB rules on federal grants. These changes threaten to upend how nonprofits, local governments, and research institutions access and manage federal funding — and the consequences for my community would be real and immediate. The new rules introduce compliance burdens that smaller organizations simply cannot absorb. When grant administration becomes too costly or complex, those organizations stop applying. That means fewer services, fewer jobs, and federal dollars that never reach the people they were meant to help. The communities that depend most on these programs are the ones who will lose the most. Block these rules before they take effect. If there are legitimate concerns about grant oversight, there are better ways to address them that don't punish the organizations doing the work on the ground.
