I am dismayed by Secretary's Orders 3418 and 3422, which prioritize energy development over environmental protection on public lands managed by the Department of the Interior. Our national parks, monuments, and other federal lands are national treasures that must be preserved for current and future generations to enjoy. Unleashing expanded fossil fuel extraction on these lands threatens irreplaceable cultural, natural, and scientific resources. I urge you to rescind these misguided orders and reaffirm the Department's commitment to responsible stewardship of our public lands and waters. Short-term energy profits should not come at the expense of permanently damaging our national heritage. As a constituent, I value our parks, forests, and wildlife refuges and want to see them protected, not sacrificed for private industry gain. Please stand up for conservation over unchecked resource exploitation.
