Protect access to gender-affirming care for transgender individuals

Transgender individuals, including transgender youth, deserve the same access to appropriate medical care as anyone else based on scientific evidence and guidelines from medical professionals. The government should not impede access to gender-affirming care, which is supported by major medical organizations as safe, effective treatment for gender dysphoria. Policies that restrict such care put vulnerable trans people at higher risk of harm. The focus should be on protecting the rights and well-being of all people, including respecting each person's gender identity.
