Our national parks are treasured places that belong to all Americans, but they cannot exist without the dedicated staff who maintain them. From performing search and rescues to cleaning trails and facilities, park rangers and employees are essential to preserving these iconic landscapes for visitors and future generations. However, over 2,000 National Park Service staff have already had their job offers rescinded, with more devastating cuts likely on the way. This will severely undermine the agency's ability to properly operate and safeguard our parks. As your constituent, I urge you to call on the administration to stop slashing National Park Service staffing levels and waive the hiring freeze for this critical agency. Parks drive local economies and support hundreds of thousands of jobs in surrounding communities that rely on tourism. Cutting park staff will directly impact visitor experiences and could cause lasting damage to these natural and cultural treasures. Our national parks, and the Americans who cherish them, deserve a fully staffed and empowered National Park Service. I ask that you take decisive action to protect this invaluable public resource from further harm.
