Impeach now

To: Rep. Schakowsky, Sen. Durbin, Sen. Duckworth

From: A constituent in Crystal Lake, IL

January 5

The President's admission that this intervention was motivated by a desire to seize "Big Oil" reserves is an unconscionable abuse of power. Deposing a foreign leader for resource extraction violates international law and mirrors the disastrous, failed interventions of the past. This unsanctioned act of war was conducted without Congressional approval, bypassing the constitutional checks that define our republic. Using the U.S. military as a tool for corporate gain is a betrayal of the American people and the service members put in harm's way. Congress must act now to hold the Executive Branch accountable for this blatant disregard for sovereignty and the rule of law. I urge you to defend our Constitution and initiate impeachment proceedings for these high crimes and misdemeanors immediately.
