The Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and it is imperative that its principles and provisions are upheld and protected. Recent actions by the administration, such as the sweeping funding freeze and alleged defiance of court orders, raise concerns about potential violations of the separation of powers and checks and balances enshrined in the Constitution. While the President has certain executive powers, these powers are not absolute and are subject to judicial review and congressional oversight. Unilaterally freezing congressionally appropriated funds without following proper legal procedures undermines the constitutional system of shared powers and accountability. Furthermore, disregarding court orders runs counter to the rule of law and the judiciary's role as a co-equal branch of government. The independence of the judiciary is a cornerstone of our democratic system, and failure to comply with lawful court orders erodes the foundational principle of respect for the courts and the Constitution. As such, we urge you to take immediate action to ensure the administration fully complies with all court orders and respects the constitutional boundaries of executive power. Upholding the Constitution should be a top priority for all elected officials and public servants. Protecting the integrity of our constitutional system is essential for preserving our democratic values and maintaining the trust of the American people.
