Based on Amnesty International's investigation and report, it is evident that Israel's actions against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip constitute genocide under international law. The deliberate killing of civilians, destruction of vital infrastructure, forced displacement, obstruction of humanitarian aid, and deprivation of essential supplies collectively demonstrate an intent to destroy, in whole or in part, the arabs in Gaza. Given these grave findings, an immediate comprehensive arms embargo on Israel is urgently needed to prevent further violations and civilian suffering. All states must halt the transfer of arms of any kind to Israel, given the overwhelming evidence that these weapons enable the commission of crimes under international law against the Palestinian population. Suspending arms exports would increase pressure on Israel to end its unlawful and inhumane policies and respect Palestinian rights. Concrete action in the form of an arms embargo is now critical to uphold international humanitarian law, protect Palestinian lives, and work towards a just and lasting peace. Failure to impose an arms embargo will only enable further atrocities and erode the principles of human rights at the expense of American taxdollars. www.amnesty.org/en/documents/mde15/8668/2024/en/
