I am writing to urge you to take a strong stand against the dangerous authoritarian actions currently being undertaken by the Trump administration. The majority of Americans share my deep concern about what is happening to our country. The recent raids on election offices in Georgia represent a direct assault on our democratic processes. We are witnessing masked government agents in our streets and children being rounded up and detained. These are not the actions of a government that respects constitutional principles or human dignity. This administration has normalized behavior that would have disqualified any candidate just a decade ago. The newly released Epstein Files contain over 4,500 documents mentioning Trump in an investigation involving the brutalization, rape, and torture of children and young women. The Washington Post documented 30,573 lies during his first term alone, with estimates reaching 100,000 lies since 2015. This is not normal political disagreement. This represents a fundamental threat to truth and accountability in government. We cannot forget January 6th, when law enforcement officers were beaten, the Capitol was damaged, and threats were made against the Vice President and Speaker of the House. The Big Lie about the 2020 election, despite losing by 7 million votes, continues to poison our political system and undermine faith in democratic institutions. Senator Lindsey Graham warned in 2016 that if Republicans nominated Trump, they would get destroyed and deserve it. That warning has proven prophetic. I stand with the thousands peacefully protesting in the streets against these authoritarian actions. They represent the best of American values. I need you to publicly condemn these actions, support investigations into abuses of power, and work to restore democratic norms and the rule of law. Your constituents are watching, and history will judge how you respond to this moment.
