On February 12th, 2026, the Trump administration repealed the EPA’s endangerment finding. Courts have upheld this finding since the Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that greenhouse gases are pollutants under the Clean Air Act. In September 2025, the National Academies of Sciences reassessed the underlying research and concluded it was “accurate, has stood the test of time, and is now reinforced by even stronger evidence.” More than 1,000 scientists urged EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin not to repeal it. A federal court ruled on January 30th that the Department of Energy broke the law when it formed a working group to justify the repeal. The EPA’s own data shows Biden-era fuel standards would result in lower gas prices for consumers. Big Oil spent $445 million electing Trump and Republican candidates in 2024. Now they’re getting what they paid for while Zeldin calls this “driving a dagger into the heart of the climate change religion.”
As an American, I will not sit quietly while this administration enriches fossil fuel corporations at the expense of our planet. The Environmental Protection Network warned this repeal will cause tens of thousands of premature deaths over the coming decades. Our kids and grandkids will breathe dirtier air. They’ll face more severe flooding and deadlier heat. They’ll pay higher costs for the damage we let happen now. Even Tesla opposed this repeal. Clean air and the health of future generations should not be partisan issues. I urge you to publicly oppose this action and support legislation restoring EPA authority over greenhouse gas emissions.
