An Open Letter

To: Rep. Lee, Pres. Trump, Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman

I can't believe the sheer audacity behind the destruction of the East Wing of the White House! It’s infuriating to witness such blatant disregard for a building that symbolizes our democracy and the values we hold dear. This isn’t just a structure; it’s a testament to our nation’s history, to the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy today. Yet here we are, watching someone treat it as if it’s their personal playground. Let’s set the record straight: Trump doesn’t own the White House. He’s merely a temporary resident, occupying a space that belongs to the people of this great nation. The White House is not just a home for the president; it represents all of us. It’s a place where our collective voice should echo, a space that should be preserved and respected. The thought of anyone—especially someone who claims to lead us—taking such destructive actions is beyond comprehension. This destruction is not just a physical loss; it’s an affront to our identity as a nation. It’s as if we’re allowing this temporary resident to erase our history, to disregard the significance of what this building stands for. I feel an overwhelming sense of anger and frustration. We must stand united in reminding those in power that they are not above the people. The White House is ours, and we will not stand idly by while it’s treated with such contempt. It’s time for us to take a stand, to voice our outrage and reclaim the dignity of our nation’s most important symbol. We cannot let this act of destruction go unchallenged. The people deserve better, and it’s our responsibility to protect what belongs to us.
