The denial of World Health Organization access to the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza by Israel authorities is an alarming violation of human rights and international law. The World Health Organization reported being denied access 3 times in 4 days, despite the dire conditions at the facility where 96 patients urgently require support. This disruption of essential medical aid amidst an ongoing crisis is unacceptable and jeopardizes lives. Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the hospital director, has highlighted the severe shortage of supplies, lack of specialized medical personnel following targeted killings, and the immense strain on remaining staff working under constant bombardment. Obstructing the work of humanitarian agencies is a reprehensible act that must be condemned in the strongest terms. Immediate steps must be taken to ensure the WHO and other aid organizations can safely access Gaza to provide critical assistance without hindrance. This imperative humanitarian mission cannot be delayed any further as the consequences could prove catastrophic.
