The International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to halt its invasion of Rafah and reopen the border crossing. Continuing this offensive will only exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, driving hundreds of thousands more civilians from their homes without access to food, shelter or basic necessities. The United States must enforce the ICJ order by immediately halting transfers of arms being used in Rafah, consistent with its stated position supporting a ceasefire and release of hostages. Funding for crucial humanitarian assistance through UNRWA should also be reinstated. Attempts to undermine or criminalize bodies like the ICJ threaten the rules-based global order essential to US and international security.
