Continue the national registry
As someone who stands with patients diagnosed with blood cancer or other disorders, I urge Congress to save lives by continuing the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program, otherwise known as the national registry, ensuring it can keep operating and serving the patients who rely on it for their life-saving bone marrow or blood cell transplant.
Every year, thousands of patients battling leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders rely on the national registry to find a matching donor for their life-saving transplant Since it began, the Program has impacted over 140,000 lives and counting.
The Program improves the lives of Americans nationwide with its proven and remarkable record:
• Indispensable registry growth: Engaging hundreds of thousands of young, healthy donors every year, building one of the world’s most powerful life-saving networks.
• Unrivaled access system: A single, cutting-edge platform links 50+ registries worldwide, giving doctors near-instant adult donor and cord blood matches to help patients in need.
• Vital patient support: Guiding families through 75+ deadly diseases with round-the-clock resources and expertise.
• Breakthrough outcomes: Harnessing data and pioneering research to boost survival rates and deliver more cures than ever before.
Congress must act now to ensure this life-saving work continues. Consistency and long-term reliability are crucial for blood cancer and disorder patients who depend on the Program for treatment that may be their best or only option.
