Oppose the Qatari Air Force Facility at Mountain Home AF

To: Sen. Schatz, Sen. Aquino, Rep. Case, Sen. Hirono, Gov. Green, Pres. Trump, Rep. Pierick

I am writing as a concerned citizen to express my strong opposition to the reported plan allowing the Qatari Emiri Air Force to construct and operate a military facility within Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. While I fully support cooperation with trusted allies, the idea of a foreign government funding and operating any form of military facility inside the United States raises serious questions about sovereignty, security, and oversight. There has been very little transparency about the scope, duration, or control of this project, and the American public deserves full disclosure before any agreement of this nature proceeds. The United States should not be hosting a foreign nation’s air force infrastructure on U.S. soil, especially when many Americans were unaware such arrangements were even possible. Even if described as a “training partnership,” this development effectively establishes a foreign military presence within our borders and sets a troubling precedent. I respectfully urge you to oppose any legislation, funding, or agreements that would enable the construction or permanent basing of foreign military forces in the United States. Please call for a full congressional review of this project, including its implications for U.S. security, taxpayer accountability, and local community impact. Thank you for your attention to this critical matter. I look forward to your response and to learning what steps you will take to protect our national sovereignty and the integrity of Mountain Home Air Force Base.
