This is terrible policy. Breaking up vaccines and requiring separate medical visits will cost families more money, require more time away from work and school, and drastically increase the possibility that children and youth will not become fully vaccinated. The CDC, not the White House, should be responsible for evidence-based vaccine recommendations. Decisions about the childhood vaccination schedule should be guided by medical and public-health experts and the best available scientific evidence—not political directives. Requiring separate visits for vaccines that can safely and effectively be administered together creates unnecessary barriers for families. It is especially concerning because every additional appointment, cost, and logistical hurdle creates another opportunity for a child to miss or delay an important vaccination. I urge you to oppose efforts to undermine the CDC’s authority and to support evidence-based vaccination policies that make it easier—not harder—for children to receive the vaccines they need.
