We must not tolerate military force against civilians

I am terrified by the threat that our federal government will send the military in to attack civilians in the cities of the United States. We have considered the use of force by a government against its own people a crime against humanity and Tiananmen Square looms large in my mind. We need the President and all of Congress to publicly acknowledge that POTUS does NOT have “plenary” or absolute power. We need to stop the militarization of our cities. We need to insist on due process under the law for everyone. And we desperately need Congress to review the Constitution and your obligations to uphold it. Turning your backs on your basic duty is appalling. We can have political differences, but we cannot have the force of the military terrorizing civilians.
