The unlawful detainment and deportation of Ricardo Prada Vásquez, a Venezuelan immigrant working as a delivery driver in Detroit, is an egregious violation of due process and human rights. After inadvertently crossing into Canada and attempting to re-enter the U.S., Prada was unjustly accused of gang ties without evidence, swiftly deported without a fair hearing, and ultimately imprisoned in a maximum-security facility in El Salvador under inhumane conditions. This draconian treatment of an innocent individual pursuing legal residency is unacceptable and undermines America's founding principles of justice and human dignity. The circumstances around Prada's disappearance and the administration's lack of transparency are deeply concerning. Failing to provide any documentation of his deportation or location, and unlawfully transferring him to a third country without due process are blatant disregards for the rule of law. No person should face such cruel and unusual punishment for an administrative infraction, especially without the ability to properly contest the allegations against them. I urge you to take immediate action to secure Prada's release from this unjust incarceration, facilitate his safe return to the United States, and ensure he receives the fair hearing he is entitled to under the Constitution. The continued violation of his civil liberties and human rights is a stain on our nation's values and commitment to freedom and democracy. Prada's wrongful imprisonment demands accountability and justice.
