Today’s executive order called Ending Crime and Disorder in America’s street needs to be stopped. The criminalisation and forced institutionalisation of the mentally ill is itself an unforgivable crime. The people who created this law no doubt want to return the mental health system back to how it was pre-1990s where people were essentially tortured (and often abused) with no recourse. Such intolerable conduct should not go unchecked. Most mentally ill people are kind, thoughtful, law abiding citizens who just want to contribute to society and live their lives with dignity. To vilify them for existing can not be tolerated. Even if you don’t have a mental illness or know/care about anyone who does, then you still shouldn’t turn a blind eye. This can easily be abused to call protesters and other liberals mentally ill and incarcerate them too. You must stop this.
