Stop the Federal Book Ban Coordinator—Protect Our Freedom

Congress was built on the idea that free people make their own choices. We don’t need Washington bureaucrats deciding which books our children can or cannot read. Yet the federal government has appointed a so-called “book ban coordinator”—a new office designed to insert itself into local libraries and schools, telling communities what ideas are allowed and what ideas are forbidden. This is not freedom. This is exactly the kind of top-down, heavy-handed government interference that our nation’s founders fought against. Our Constitution protects the right to speak, to write, and to read. That freedom belongs to the people, not to a coordinator in Washington, D.C. Let’s be clear: parents—not politicians or federal agencies—have the responsibility to guide what their children learn. Families can make their own decisions. Communities can choose their own values. What we don’t need is a federal “truth czar” who decides which voices are silenced. That’s government overreach at its worst. Congress must take action now. Hold public hearings to investigate how and why this position was created. Expose who gave the authority to install a book ban coordinator in the first place. Shine a light on how much money is being wasted on policing ideas instead of protecting our borders, lowering costs, and defending our freedoms. Most importantly, Congress must pass legislation guaranteeing that the federal government has no power to ban books. Protecting freedom means protecting all speech—even the speech we don’t like. The same power that can be used to silence ideas you disagree with can tomorrow be used to silence you. Real patriots understand that freedom is not safe when the government holds the eraser. Congress must stand up for liberty and strike down this dangerous attempt at thought control. America cannot allow Washington to decide what we are allowed to read.
