Support IID's rejection of Imperial Valley Computer Manufacturing's water application and oppose their lawsuit seeking 880 acre-feet of Colorado River water annually for an AI data center complex. Sebastian Rucci and IVCM repeatedly promised this project would run on recycled municipal wastewater — not Colorado River water. That promise is now a lawsuit. The Colorado River is in severe drought. IID's water rights exist to serve the people and farms of Imperial Valley, not to cool server racks for a data center developer who couldn't get cities to agree to his terms and is now trying to take what he wants through the courts. IVCM's proposed "offset" — fallowing 160 acres of leased farmland — eliminates agricultural jobs and doesn't justify handing scarce water to a tech company that lied about its intentions from the start. The Imperial County Board of Supervisors is already considering an emergency moratorium on data center development. I want you to stand with IID, support that moratorium, and make clear that drought-stricken communities are not a resource pool for the AI industry.
