I was deeply disturbed to see an image on your personal social media account featuring a soldier with a television for a head displaying a pink triangle with a prohibition sign. This is a clear historical reference to the Nazi persecution of LGBTQ+ individuals, who were arrested under Paragraph 175, forced to wear the pink triangle, and sent to concentration camps. Between 100,000 and 150,000 were arrested,sent to camps, many of whom died due to torture, medical experiments, and executions.
This imagery is not just offensive—it echoes the dehumanization that led to the murder of 6 million Jews and millions of others in Nazi Germany, including:
• Romani people (220,000–500,000 killed) – 1 million in the U.S. today
• Disabled individuals (250,000 murdered) – 42.5 million in the U.S.
• Political prisoners (Tens of thousands executed) – Millions in the U.S.
• Jehovah’s Witnesses (1,200–5,000 killed) – 1.2 million in the U.S.
• Slavic civilians (1.8 million murdered) – Over 9 million of Polish descent in the U.S.
• Jewish people (6 million killed) – 7.5 million in the U.S.
• LGBTQ+ individuals (5,000–15,000 sent to camps) – 20 million in the U.S.
Had this image been posted by an ordinary citizen, it would have been removed for hate speech or bullying. Yet, as President, you seem to believe you can promote dehumanization while simultaneously restricting the freedoms of others. If freedom of speech only applies to you and those who agree with you, then it is not freedom—it is control.
Who Will You Target Next?
History shows that authoritarian regimes never stop with one group. Who is next? Will you expand your culture war to all non-Prosperity Gospel Christians? Will you include Catholics, Methodists, and other Christians whose doctrine does not align with your ideology? There are over 61 million Catholics and tens of millions of Protestants in the U.S.—will they also be deemed a distraction?
The presidency should be a beacon of unity, not division. America is strongest when all citizens are treated with dignity, respect, and the right to serve their country free from discrimination. Do you stand for freedom and democracy, or for something else?
