Block the Reconciliation Bill Until the Slush Fund and Ballroom Are Removed

To: Rep. McCormick, Sen. Warnock, Sen. Ossoff

From: A verified voter in Alpharetta, GA

May 21

Vote no on the reconciliation bill in its current form. The $1.8 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund has no legal precedent, no accountability, and no business being attached to immigration enforcement funding. Sen. Cassidy called it exactly what it is — a slush fund — and he's right. The Senate Parliamentarian already ruled the White House ballroom renovation doesn't meet reconciliation requirements. That should be the end of it. Stripping the parliamentarian's authority or blowing up the filibuster to push through a ballroom renovation would be an embarrassment to this institution. Hold the line. No slush fund, no ballroom, no vote.
