How can Texas claim to protect women while hiding the evidence? Texas has already shown how cruelly its system can fail women under Republican leadership. Now Texas has delayed its maternal mortality report until after the election and will not review deaths from 2022 and 2023, the first full years after the abortion ban took effect. When laws make doctors fear treating pregnant women, women can be left in dangerous situations. This delay is a loud admission that Republican leaders know and fear what the numbers will reveal. If the findings vindicate these laws, release them proudly. Instead, Texas is withholding the report and leaving deaths unevaluated. Your actions tell women that their lives matter less than protecting Republican power. Shame on every official enabling this. Release the report now. Review the deaths the committee left out. Women deserve care, answers, and a government that does not hide evidence about their lives. Trump and his corrupt Republicans are the problem in Texas.
