I am horrified to hear that the President and HHS secretary are taking steps to hinder our access to vaccines. First, they have cancelled the FDA meeting which was to determine which strains to include in the next season’s flu vaccine. Next, they have put on pause development of a Moderna bird flu vaccine. Finally, they have put on pause development of a nasal COVID vaccine. When RFK was questioned by congress he said he would not hinder the availability of vaccines. However, not surprisingly, he is doing just that. Please insist that the flu vaccine planning meeting and the development of the bird flu vaccine and COVID nasal vaccine proceed swiftly and with full support, to help ensure the safety and health of your constituents. In addition, please insist that the HHS Secretary and President take swift action to ensure the measles outbreak (which has so far killed one Texas child) and bird flu risks are mitigated with science-based measures like encouraging measles vaccination and bird flu testing. Thank you!
