Impose an arms embargo on Israel for firing on WFP vehicles. The World Food Programme's (WFP) crucial humanitarian operations in Gaza are being severely hampered due to the unacceptable targeting of it’s personnel and vehicles by Israel forces. A WFP vehicle was directly struck by Israel gunfire near an occupation checkpoint, despite being clearly marked and having secured necessary clearances. This is an unconscionable violation of international humanitarian law and obstructs the delivery of life-saving aid to Palestinians amidst an ongoing genocide in Gaza. Such actions by Israel forces jeopardize humanitarian access and endanger aid workers dedicated to alleviating civilian suffering. An immediate and comprehensive arms embargo must be imposed on Israel to ensure the safety of humanitarian staff and compel respect for the rules of war. Facilitating the unimpeded access of humanitarian relief is vital. The security of WFP and other aid agencies operating in Gaza must no longer be endangered with impunity.
