Enact Student Loan Reform Now!!

To: Sen. Warren, Rep. Moulton, Sen. Markey

From: A constituent in Lynn, MA

January 3

The Trump administration has announced it will begin to garnish wages from defaulted student loan borrowers. Millions of Americans, who already struggle living paycheck to paycheck, are going to be forced to survive with even less. Millions of Americans are drowning in college debt due to predatory lenders and a negligent government. As your constituent I am asking that you: 1) publicly move to stop the garnishing of borrowers wages 2) cap student loan interest at 10% 3) Forgive all federally held student debt America has over $1.8 trillion dollars in student debt, $1.5 trillion of that is held by the federal government. Forgiving this debt, even over time, would provide economic relief to millions of struggling Americans, stimulate economic spending and growth, and enable future generations to receive higher education at a reasonable cost. Thank you for your time and consideration.
