Israel's relentless bombardment of Gaza has created a horrific situation where there is no safe refuge for civilians to escape the violence. The UN has stated that Gaza is the only place in the world where people cannot flee from the front lines. This unacceptable reality is causing immense suffering and loss of innocent lives, including the recent airstrike that killed 7 Palestinians in Khan Younis. I urge you to take immediate action to end Israel's disproportionate use of force and indiscriminate targeting of civilian areas in Gaza. The ongoing assault amounts to war crimes and state-sanctioned violence against a population trapped under illegal military occupation and blockade. Human rights and international law cannot be disregarded. The genocide in Gaza must end now through a negotiated ceasefire, lifting of the blockade, and a path towards a just and lasting peace.
